Enzo Villaparedes

Venezuelan transplant finds his groove

Enzo is an exceptionally talented trumpet player, producer, arranger and composer who hails from Venezuela where he received his early musical training. He came to the USA in the mid 90’s and quickly began recording TV commercials, touring, recording and playing with many bands and singers around the world, including Earth, Wind & Fire Experience, Frankie Valli, Juan Gabriel, Joan Sebastian, Oscar D’Leon, Grupo Niche and Franco De Vita. He currently calls L.A. home, where he is in the process of recording his first album. His styles range from Funk, Pop, Reggae, Rock, Ska and World Music. I guess we should say he’s found a lot of grooves.

An upbeat, movin Cumbia punctuated by tight trumpet hits and driving percussion. A Cumbia to get the blood flowing and the dance floor hoppin.

lyrics

Y me empiezo a despertar
Un bano con agua fria pa’ gozar
Peinadito, perfumito
Para salir a la calle bonito
Tu no sabes afuera
A quien te vas a encontrar

Que?
Ay no me digas que tu me ves
En la esquina con no se quien
Esto parece un cuento de brujas
Que?
Es que parece que tu no ves
Me comparas con no se quien
Aqui disparan, despues preguntan

Racatacatacataca

Y son las 6 de la mañana
Alumbra el sol por mi ventana
Casi a punto de dormir
Escucho los gritos por ahi
De una ciudad que se levanta
De una oscura madrugada
Y yo sigo aqui
Y no quiero ni salir

Son las 3 de la mañana
Y me empiezo a acomodar
con mi corbata voy a trabajar
Las luces de mi ciudad
Empiezan a vacilar
Dandole la bienvenida al dia
Que ya va a empezar

Que?
Ay no me diagas que tu me ves
En la esquina con no se quien
Esto parece un cuento de brujas
Que?
Es que parece que tu no ves
Me confunden con no se quien
Aqui disparan, despues preguntan

Que?
Que no me diagas que tu me ves
En la esquina con no se quien
Esto parece un cuento de brujas
Que?
Es que parece que tu no ves
Me confunden con no se quien
Aqui disparan, despues preguntan

Ya son las 10 de la mañana
Mis ojos no se cierran
Yo no se que me pasa
Siento voy a enloquecer
Se me queman las tostadas
Se me bota el cafe
Ay que dia! Me saque la loteria!
Siento que todo
Me va subiendo medio tono

Que?
Que no me diagas que tu me ves
En la esquina con no se quien
Esto parece un cuento de brujas
Que?
Es que parece que tu no ves
Me confunden con no se quien
Aqui disparan, despues preguntan

Repeat

English Translation:

It is 3 in the morning
Like a nightmare I fall off the bed
Almost crazed
I start to think under the moon

It is the streets of my city
That lay out the true laws
And I’m still here
And I don’t really want to go out

It is 3 in the morning
And I begin to wake up
A shower with cold water I enjoy
Combed, perfumed
To go out looking good
You never know out there
Who you will encounter

What?
Oh don’t tell me that you see me
In the corner with who knows who
This is like a witch story
What?
It seems that you don’t see
You compare me with who knows who
Here they shoot, then they ask

Rackatackatackatacka

And it is 3 in the morning
The sunlight enters my window
I’m almost falling asleep
And I hear the shouting out there
Of a city that wakes up
From a dark dawn
And I’m still here
And I don’t really want to go out

It is 6 in the morning
And I start to get ready
I put on a tie and go to work
The lights of my city
Are beginning to look cool
Welcoming the day
That is beginning

What?
Oh don’t tell me that you see me
In the corner with who knows who
This is like a witch story
What?
It seems that you don’t see
You compare me with who knows who
Here they shoot, then they ask

What?
So don’t tell me that you see me
In the corner with who knows who
This is like a witch story
What?
It seems that you don’t see
You compare me with who knows who
Here they shoot, then they ask

Now it’s 10 in the morning
My eyes don’t close
I don’t know what’s wrong with me
I feel I’m losing my mind
My toast burned
My coffee spilled
Oh what a day! I won the lottery!
I feel that everything
Is raising half a step

What?
So don’t tell me that you see me
In the corner with who knows who
This is like a witch story
What?
It seems that you don’t see
You compare me with who knows who
Here they shoot, then they ask
